About Andre Woods

I have more than 13+ years in communication and community development. Im am a graduate of Bossier Parish Community College. Born to a low income single mother household in an economically disadvantaged area; I would find myself working as a child to help make ends meet. At 16 years old, I dropped out of school and picked up two full-time jobs and a part time job to support my mother and four siblings. At 19, I felt life was going nowhere and seeing the repressed state of my community, I made time and volunteered at my local church,(SCC shreveport). I began my work in community development by becoming a mentor for the youth group and winners circle camp. For the next 7 years, I would mentor younger kids and recruit others into youth activities to improve their outlook on life. After years of success with increasing interest in community oriented activities, I would pursue a degree in communication to enhance my abilities to do so on a larger scale. While attending Bossier Parish Community College. I took up precedents in my campus senate to developed executive skills. I represented my campus during the Association for Promotion of College Activities nationwide APCA conferences (2017-2019). I served on the board of my college's environmental initiative(2018). I helped a fellow senator establish the BPCC Gay/Straight Alliance to create a safer campus for gay and LGBTQ students(2018). I held my senate position during my entire college attendance. During my senate tenor, I was simultaneously doing scholarship work as a director/producer for BPCC Live News, Homework Hangout Live kids show, and BPCC 10 pm Nightrun Live Broadcast(2017-2019). I ran a successful co-collaboration to overhaul the communication department equipment update for the first time in over a decade which had still been operating on a analog signal. I served as a member of Tech Fee Committee my entire tenor overseeing the college budget fund for student activities and technology of more than 500k a year. I am experienced in the use of technology to better understand and implement useful solutions. I have worked alongside the EPA and Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality in a public case that receive media attention to successfully hold companies illegally dumping hazardous waste in residential waterways accountable. Currently, I'm enrolled at Georgia Tech ATDC. I am currently Founder of Expose M based out of Atlanta, GA. Expose M is all-inclusive tech startup developing all-inclusive public accountability tech to repair the deteoriation of civic engagement globally.
