About Andrea E.

Business and tutoring background: After completing my first bachelor’s degree in business marketing in 2009 and moving to Germany, my life has become a journey of adaptation and change. In less than a year, I acquired the intermediate level (B2) of German and then pursued a 120-hour TEFL diploma through BridgeTEFL. In 2010, I completed the program successfully with additional grammar and business English endorsements to teach general learners and professionals at companies. During my first 10+ years in Germany, I mainly taught business English. In 2018, I began tutoring students from several countries online for a successful San Francisco-based startup, Cambly. Information Technology background: My IT journey began by taking introductory coding classes in the C language, HTML5, and CSS on Udemy. In 2019, I began working toward obtaining a second bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. As an IT student, I covered the core syntax and functionality of the C language over two semesters and modified and created websites using HTML and CSS. I have also gained exposure to object-oriented languages such as C++, Java, C#, Python, and Ruby. I learned about the essential structure of the Linux/Unix OS and several common commands. Other courses encompassed IoT, network structures, OSI Model, i.e, and network management. Information systems and team projects were also critical and mandatory components of my program. Personal interests: In my free time, I enjoy jogging and working out. I listen to podcasts on various topics ranging from psychology to tech news to economics, and I listen to different kinds of upbeat to relaxing music.
