About Andrea E. Schmidt

I am a dedicated team leader working at the interface of policy, practice and research, on the connections between health systems and climate change. I am passionate about moving towards an eco-social transformation, and about having the health sector lead by example in this transformation. Further, I work with stakeholders and scientists on how to prepare our health systems for the climate crisis, making health systems resilient at all levels, from health information systems to workforce to financing mechanisms. Other areas of expertise in which I have worked and published for more than 10 years are: informal care, long-term care, health information systems. I believe in connecting disciplines and people, nationally and internationally. I use both quantitative and qualitative methods in the fields of social sciences,(health) economics, and I have used large-scale administrative health data in previous works. I am a communicative person who thrives in an international, multi-disciplinary, fast-paced work environment, and I highly value the exchange with policy-makers at all levels, public officials and other researchers about my work.
