Background

About Andrea Grilli

hi, i'm andrea grilli. i hold a master's degree in physics, which i pursued after completing a bachelor's degree in chemistry. during my studies, i developed a keen interest in theoretical and computational chemistry, with a particular focus on ab initio methods and molecular simulations using gaussian 09. during my academic career, i combined my knowledge of chemistry with theoretical concepts from my master's degree in physics. i focused on the physical aspects of optics, statistical physics, and the application of physics to chemical systems. additionally, i developed a proficiency in programming using matlab and python with a basis knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence and data mining (using specific python tools). in my thesis work, i conducted simulations of azopyrazoles, which undergo optical interconversion, analysing the energies of the tautomers formed through different relaxation mechanisms following photo-activation. by investigating and obtaining energy values, i aimed to gain insight into the half-life times of these systems. these simulations were obtained with ab inito methods using gaussian09. my personal interests are basketball, logic and card games, and sometimes i enjoy playing chess (but i'm not so good). i am ambitious, ready to work, learn and challenge myself!
