About Andrea Kaiser

Andrea (Drea) Kaiser is a distinguished leader in her industry, with over thirty years of experience in business, marketing, tourism, communication, and hospitality. She is a recognized expert and educator in marketing, business management, sustainability, and public relations, having taught at the Canadian Food and Wine Institute for over a decade. Currently, Andrea is a business consultant specializing in the food and beverage industry and has recently joined her brother at Kaiser Design and Marketing to lead the marketing and strategy division. In 2019, Andrea founded Drea’s Wine Co, producing premium, small-batch, single-vineyard, low-intervention wines in memory of her father, iconic and pioneering Canadian winemaker Karl J. Kaiser. Her wines have taken the wine world by storm, receiving international critical acclaim since their debut. Highlights include her Sauvignon Blanc being distinguished by renowned wine writer Jancis Robinson, her Rosato being named one of the "Top 31 Canadian Rosés to Try" by Decanter magazine, and her Dornfelder being featured at one of Canada’s first Michelin-starred restaurants. Her wines are regularly recognized at international wine competitions and are served worldwide, including at Canadian embassies in New York City, Stockholm, Manila, Washington D.C, and London. Growing up, she had a front-row seat to the re-emergence of the cottage wine industry, witnessing its growth into a global competitor. Her wine education includes sommelier training and extensive travel to renowned wine regions such as Napa, Bordeaux, Sancerre, Friuli, the Douro Valley, and the Okanagan. She is a graduate of the Wine Business Executive Program at the University of California, Davis, and completed The Business of Wine: Strategies, Challenges, and Trends at Stanford University with Dr. Liz Thach, a regular contributor to Forbes and Wine Spectator magazine. While she has travelled abroad, she is most passionate about Niagara’s local wine and food culture and is deeply engaged in her community. She has served as chairperson of the marketing cooperative Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake and as an executive board member of Ontario Craft Wineries and Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce. She currently chairs Ontario’s Sustainable Winegrowing Certification program, continuing her efforts to advance the industry. In addition to her industry contributions, Andrea has held key positions in local government and currently serves as a Niagara Regional Councillor for Niagara-on-the-Lake, focusing on policy development and community engagement.
