About Andrea Kostic

After graduating from Philological Highschool, I have continued my education at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, where I earned both a Bachelor and a Master's degree in the English Language, Literature and Culture. My career started while I was still in college, working as an English teacher and a freelance translator. After that, I decided to dive into the publishing industry as an editor and proofreader. As time went by and I became more proficient at my job, I became a tutor to several new employees, in order to pass my knowledge and experience onto the next generation of editors. In the spring of 2021, I got promoted to Group Leader, leading a team of 20-25 production editors at MDPI, as well as continuing my teaching and proofreading practices. Only a year later, after being promoted further to a Deputy Manager position, I am hoping to achieve everything that I have achieved for my team on a larger scale for my entire department of 180 people and counting. I am very much enjoying my new challenge and looking forward to new experiences and lessons to be learned ahead.
