About Andrea Mitchell

Currently serving as GSA's Employee Engagement Program Manager. This includes engaging with organizational leaders and staff offices discussing employee engagement drivers such as performance and recognition, communication, training and development and work life balance in an effort to gain a deeper understanding of the specific challenges that each organization faces. I work closely with OPM assisting with the administration of the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey to GSA’s workforce then providing high level briefings covering the results to senior leadership. In addition to working with the agency’s senior leaders, I also continue to establish GSA-wide communications plans, develop and update our National Engagement Strategic Plan and engagement related resource tools and lead the agency's National Engagement Team. I work with the team year round creating a culture and work environment that fosters and supports a highly engaged and productive workforce. Our work includes analyzing employee satisfaction survey reports, identifying trends that are negatively impacting the agency's performance and looking for ways to address the complex problems. This leads to developing meaningful organizational action plans outlining concrete initiatives to address those challenge areas while also highlighting areas of success. Aside from my 8 years of experience with employee engagement, I also have experience in the arena of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility working with offices developing and implementing advancement opportunities that contribute to equal consideration for all employees with regards to promotions, training, and distribution of awards.
