About Andreas Fock

I have, for long, possessed keen interest in politics, especially with regards to social, market and transport policy. During my stint at Gothenburg University in Sweden, I not only chaired but also built a student association from scratch. In that role, I campaigned, evaluated policies and lobbied politics. A lot of external contacts had to be made in the process. I had co-operations with other large student associations during this time. I am a problem solver who likes to organise. Hosting and arranging meetings and gatherings have been part of my duties as chairman. Adding to that is some experience in human rights work; I have been Co-chair for Human Rights in the student association of European Democrat Students, an association directly linked to the European People’s Party with members from all around Europe. I have had the chance to write policy and lobby for it with success as Co-chair. I have also had direct contact with governmental work as a case officer for the Swedish Migrations Agency, in which I have worked in an international environment using multiple languages in my work and handling difficult cases with a varying nature. I have a degree in European Studies, where focus has been on European public administration. It contains elements of economics, law and political sciences. A lot of writing reports and researching information in databanks such as Eurlex and oeil has gone into these studies, in addition to an expressed outlook into different countries’ legal systems. My personal focus has been on labour, labour relations and legislation - something I got to work with while interning at the Swedish Public Unemployment Office. There, I got my first hands-on experience of how the Swedish government works and what role the EU plays in it. Recently I have been working with the transport sector. My current job has me overseeing the transport market of Sweden. My specialisation has been on matters retaining to EU legislation.
