About Andreas Groh

The chosen path was the best thing that could have happened to me. Every day I learn something new, and I broaden my horizon. What do I do? Actually, I have at least two jobs in the area of industrial metrology. I spend most of my time in an international team responsible for a software module for GD & T evaluations. This library covers both bodies of standards for geometrical product specifications, ISO GPS and ASME Y14.5. What's so exciting and fascinating is the mathematical modelling, the development of high-performance algorithms and their implementation. So, everything that lets the heart of an enthusiastic applied mathematician beats faster. My second job is the management of a small but excellent team of developers and researchers. In this interdisciplinary team, called “Mathematical Algorithms / Special Geometries” I have the pleasure to work with highly skilled mathematicians, physicists, and engineers. The team is based in "city of optics", Wetzlar and they are working on the metrology software Quindos. Last but not least, I’m an official member in the national and international standardization committees, DIN and ISO TC 213, where I regularly meet experts from all over the world.
