About Andreas Peter Hansen

My favourite days are when succeed in combining traditional business values with true sustainability! I have always been passionate about strategic sourcing and procurement of commodities, ingredients and packaging materials. I am very fascinated by how these products are produced and how this affects the quality of the finished product. Following my years in the confectionery industry and Fairtrade, this perception of quality comprises sustainability as an additional facet. I have worked with strategic purchasing, supply chain management and sustainability for over 20 years, especially in my position as Group Purchasing & Sourcing Manager in Toms Gruppen A/S. Thus, I have extensive experience in developing supplier collaborations in most parts of the world. Working with tropical crops like cocoa, sustainability was a natural part of the development of the suppliers. I enjoy working in an environment, where I have the opportunity to build bridges between different business cultures, to create a result that is beneficial to all parties. To be able to accomplish a value-adding negotiation I believe that you need to be very professional, sharp and well organized as a negotiator. This to quickly create an overview of the complex problems and develop a good solution. I always seek to solve challenges through an accommodating dialogue where empathy and humour can be valuable tools.
