About Andreas Pingel

Germany is Sweden's most important trading partner. But selling goods and services in Germany can be a challenge: cultural differences, different legislation, pretty tough competition. It is fulfilling and fun to help Swedish companies to master the waters of this huge market. With native-level proficiency in German and deep familiarity with German markets, I specialize in crafting marketing strategies tailored to the DACH region. Worked many years as a translator (Japanese -> German, English -> German) mostly on industrial texts e.g. patents while in Tokyo and Berlin. Just for the fun of it - and sometimes unpaid - I translated movies and books. Moved then to free lance journalism: background research and texts for Japanese government agencies about economics, environmental policy, research funding etc. in Germany and the EU (while living in Berlin). Moved to the Swedish countryside and got interested in natural sciences (online courses at different Swedish universities in math, physics, geology, CS). All this makes my personal blend of skills: I'm a pedant regarding the German language (translator), love to intellectually conquer new fields of interest (journalist) and I think it's fun to mess with statistics, new technology etc.
