About Andreas Schwarz

I work as an Operations Engineer at the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), where I am responsible for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into organizational processes and leading the strategic development of all AI-related initiatives. With a strong background in Data Science and Neural Engineering, my career combines academic research with applied AI and technology transfer. During my PhD, I worked as a third-party funded project scientist focusing on EEG-based analysis and decoding of human hand movements, and I developed brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). At the Section of Experimental Neurorehabilitation of the Medical University of Heidelberg, I continued this work as a Researcher and Data Scientist in Neural Engineering. My expertise lies at the intersection of AI strategy and applied technology. I focus on large-scale AI architectures with hyperscalers, secure AI cloud environments, and the deployment of LLMs and advanced machine learning models. I also have deep knowledge in digital signal processing (biological and sensor-based signals), data analysis, and real-time simulation. I am highly proficient in Python and MATLAB, with hands-on experience in developing AI pipelines, integrating ML systems into production, and ensuring their scalability and security.
