About Andrei Levitskii

Before university, I had no interest at all in programming. I was pretty good with the exact sciences, but when I first saw Pascal, it didn't catch me. Nevertheless, I joined the programming department, because it seemed to me (and it was) the most promising. During my first year I was introduced to Python, and it really hooked me. I was willing to spend hours pondering different solutions, optimizing and improving my code. Since then, most of my practice has been with Python, although I've been exposed to more than 10 different languages during my studies. Curiously enough, I've never written a line of code in Pascal =) Near the end of the University I got a job, during which I was a QA engineer, developer and team leader, doing absolutely different tasks: DevOps, legacy support, automated/manual testing, frontend/backend development, DB optimization, training newcomers, planning and executing projects of different sizes. It helped me look at the industry from different sides, learn to understand new areas quickly and gain vast experience in working with different technologies, cloud services and communicating with colleagues. I am very interested in further developing my skills in the area of high load systems and cloud services, as I consider these areas to be among the most promising.
