About Andrei Mandzuk

I hold a Bachelors of Science in Sport Science and a Masters of Science in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology, both awarded by Bangor University. Currently I am a Professional Doctorate student in Elite Performance at the University of Central Lancashire. After close to a decade of experience providing sport psychology support to elite athletes, I founded Mzk Performance to address outdoor athlete’s need for high quality, evidence based, mental performance training. I am a Faculty Member in the Department of Sport Science at Douglas College, a Mental Performance Consultant with Mzk Performance, a Professional Member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association, a Certified Mental Performance Consultant by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, and High Performance Certified by Sport Scientist Canada. In addition to my work supporting athletes ranging from the high school to the Olympic level through individual coaching, I have been honored to facilitate workshops and contract on behalf of organizations such as the Canadian Sport Institute - Pacific, Arc’teryx, Team BC, BC Wheelchair Sports, Team Canada, and The Richmond Oval. Parallel to my work in mental performance, I am still actively coaching climbing. I am the Youth National Team Head Coach, a Learning Facilitator, and a member of the National Practitioner Network for Climbing Escalade Canada, and a founding member of the International Association of Psychologists in Climbing. Outside of my applied and instructional work with students, athletes, and teams, I have active research interests in the psychology of elite performance. I have presented on various topics at the Canadian Climbing Symposium, Canoe England Coaching Symposium, Expertise and Skill Acquisition Network Conference, and Association of Experiential Education International Conference. Having previously lived in the mountains of North Wales, I can now be found climbing, running, skiing, and mountain biking in Vancouver, British Columbia.
