Background

About Andres Ayala

As a clinical psychologist, therapist, and counselor, I have been able to listen to many people with different stories, concerns, dreams, and disappointments. The biggest problems arise from not accepting yourself, your condition, and your hopes and fears. In my experience as a mental health professional, I have accompanied minority or historically excluded groups in their processes of self-acceptance, healing, grief, and dealing with chronic diseases. I have found that there are still many deficiencies in basic education and the knowledge we all possess within our families and households. People need opportunities to learn, to understand each other, and to challenge themselves to be better and improve. Through my life, I want to give others this step, place, and opportunity. “Life’s most urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” Martin Luther King, Jr.
