FCCS(SW) Andrew W. Albert enlisted in the U.S. Navy Delayed Entry Program out of Lancaster, PA September 1996. He went to Recruit Training Command September 1997 in Great Lakes, IL. He then went to Naval Training Command for basic electronics training and completing Fire Controlman A-School. From Great Lakes he transferred to Fleet Training Center San Diego, CA to get advanced training on the Close-In Weapons System. He then transferred to his first ship USS Laboon(DDG-58) home ported in Norfolk, VA. Here he advanced to Second Class Petty Officer and Completed two Mediterranean / Persian Gulf deployments. After leaving USS Laboon he attended MK 160 Mod 4/6 Gun Computer System training and transferred to his Second Ship USS Stout (DDG-55) home ported in Norfolk, VA where he advanced to First Class Petty Officer and completed 1 Mediterranean Deployment. He then transferred to Center for Surface Combat Systems in Dam Neck, VA to maintain the MK 160 School equipment and train students in its operation and maintenance. Before he transferred he was Advanced to Chief Petty Officer. His next tour was Global Support Assignment to Joint Base Balad, Iraq as the Maintenance Chief for Counter-Rocket Artillery and Mortar After this tour he transferred to USS James E. Williams (DDG-95) home ported in Norfolk, VA where he served as Combat Gunnery Division Leading Chief Petty Officer and Weapons Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. He completed one Mediterranean / Persian Gulf deployment. He then transferred to Afloat Training Group Pacific North West to Train the ships of the Pacific Fleet in Basic Phase Combat Systems Operation and was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal and various unit and campaign awards. He earned an Associate of Applied Science from Excelsior College, Albany, NY.
