About Andrew Allman

Life is very unpredictable and can take you in a multitude of directions. As a child, my dream was to become a ski instructor in British Columbia. I was a competitive ski racer from the ages of 8 to 16 and then became a ski instructor by the age of 16. The competitive ski racing taught me to consistently put my best foot forward, which is a trait that has transitioned into other aspects of my life such as school and work. While being a ski instructor I developed effective communication and leadership skills. In grade 12 I decided to apply to ski hills in BC as well as university programs for accounting and finance. I chose to apply to accounting and finance as I am a strong math student who is interested in how companies operate and perform. After spending my whole life on the slopes, I decided it was time for a change and accepted my offer to Accounting and Financial Management at the University of Waterloo. In the future I plan to earn my CPA and CBV designations as well as my Masters in Accounting. I am currently interested in exploring tax, audit and finance roles. Overall, I would like to enter the corporate industry for either accounting or finance related positions.
