About Andrew Barfield

I have eleven years of experience in retail with AutoZone. I started at the bottom and worked my way up to Store Manager and eventually Hub General Manager. My climb up the ladder was helped by discipline and leadership traits I learned while serving in the Marine Corps. My mission was to drive sales and increase profits at my stores. I accomplished this through associate training and shadowing to elevate salesmanship and practical knowledge. As a Hub General Manager, the person in charge of an AutoZone location that delivers parts to other AutoZone locations, I lead a multi-department team that consisted of drivers, inventory specialists, DIY counter sales, and commercial sales. I was responsible for hiring and training new employees, implementing store safety and loss prevention initiatives, and evaluating KPIs to meet targets. After years in retail, I decided to go back to college to try to pursue a career in business management that would be more fulfilling and pay better. I have expanded my knowledge of Excel, learned some programming in Java and RStudio, and am in the process of working through retail cybersecurity and contingency planning. My goal is to find a position, and grow, in a company that values it's employees.
