About Andrew Beal

I'm a dad to a 9-year-old daughter living in Philadelphia, with broad experience at diverse institutions. I've always worked in the non-profit sector, and have never strayed far from culture, arts, and education. I believe those areas have the power to connect us with others, and to spark and reveal the humanity within. They are an important part of the present and preparing for a better future. I am dedicated to ensuring organizations, and the communities that are made and make them, thrive through fundraising, finance, and administration. With over two decades of experience in finance, human resources, communications, fundraising, and facilities, I've excelled in every aspect of my work. I'm driven to do better faster, and ask myself every day "What can we do to make this task more productive?" My professional career runs parallel to major organizational transformations, and I've established long-lasting policies and procedures. Highlights include:+serving the University of the Arts Theater Department (RIP) through a simultanous Director, Provost, and President change over +assisting in the public opening of the now Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History +leading two capital campaigns and an aggresive endowment campaign at the Kelly Writers House in preperation for the retirment of the founding Faculty Director Favorite projects include:+a fifteen year strategic plan for the historic Plays and Players Theater, including a full facilities renovation plan.+serving on a stakeholder committee for the transition to WorkDay at the University of Pennsylvania.+steering the building and implemntation of a new FileMakerPro database at the Kelly Writers House for maintaining records on constituents, donors, students, and email communications. Currently pursuing additional education in Gift Planning, I am always seeking to learn more and hear how other people have had success (and the mistakes they made along the way).
