About Andrew Blackstein

For the past 4 years I have been working as a Substance Abuse Counselor at several different OASAS treatment facilities. For 9 months I did my training and internship at Greenberg Outpatient Addiction Treatment Services in White Plains, NY. and Blaisdell Inpatient Treatment Center in Orangeburg, NY. For the last 3 1/2 years I have been a full-time clinician at Sancia Health Care Inc, in White Plains, NY. Sancia Health Care offers clinical services to those struggling with alcohol or substance abuse problems. I have also been working on a per diem basis at Blaisdell Treatment Center. In my capacity as a full-time clinician I am responsible for providing individual and group counseling to a caseload of 20-30 male clients. I am responsible to prepare treatment plans for my clients as well as to make referrals to other agencies or programs that I deem helpful for them. In addition, I keep detail records on each client in order to meet OASAS standards. My other duties encompass crisis intervention counseling when necessary, overseeing drug screenings, presenting treatment topics to colleagues and supervising interns. For the past 4 years I have also been my agency’s representative on The White Plains Drug Court, teaming with judges, other CASACs and various program coordinators
