About Andrew Boucher

Most of my career has been focused on working with computers, technology, and art. I've spent several years working within prepress at lesser known printing facilities until eventually becoming a part of the Graphic Packaging team. On the side I also volunteered at my local community TV station. Over the years I've acquired knowledge to work in several different areas. I've learned to use various software in graphic design, CAD design, video production, web design, programming, and more. In prepress along with working with graphics files I've made plates, helped maintain processors, and troubleshot issues with platesetters. Working with the CAD team I learned to cut blankets, plot vinyls and patch sheets, make samples, and edit one-ups and layouts. Due to my proficiency with most things computer related, I usually become designated as the unofficial IT person among the people I work with. For example, at Graphic Packaging I was appointed as the remote IT contact for my facility which involved processing support tickets, monitoring equipment, and keeping track of computer inventory. If a new person were hired I would be the one to setup their computer and work phone, as well as help familiarize them with applications they needed to use. I'd say overall that my passion for technology has allowed me to easily play multiple roles throughout the years. Wherever I end up, I look forward to acquiring many more skills and expanding my knowledge.
