Partner in the Corporate Investment Department of BDO Ireland, the world's fifth largest Accountancy network with over 64,300 employees in 1,400 offices across 154 countries. As Partner, I support SMEs in achieving their plans for growth and advise companies at board-level on issues including funding, acquisitions, growth strategies, international expansion, business planning and board governance. Co-Founder and Partner of Development Capital (Manager of both the BDO Development Capital Fund & Development Capital Fund II). Both the BDO Development Capital Fund and Development Capital Fund II are €75 million Funds aimed at Irish mid-sized growth focused SMEs and we provides investee companies with not only funding but also leverages our experience and expertise to empower our investee companies to achieve their international growth plans. See Director of BES Management Limited, a joint venture company between BDO and Davy which raises, invests and manages the Davy BES/EII Scheme Funds (with c. €65 million under management) to assist and support SME management teams in executing their business growth plans. BES Management Limited is the longest running fund manager in the country, raising over €187 million which has been invested in established and expanding companies operating in the food & agri, manufacturing, engineering, ICT and renewable energy sectors. Through my work with the fund’s investee companies, I have developed a wealth of sectoral experience across the range of Irish industries with, a particular expertise advising companies in food & agri, industrial and manufacturing sectors. I have documented these key SME learning's and am co-author of Business Innovation & Growth: Tax Incentives and Sources of Funding published by Chartered Accountants Ireland.
