About Andrew Britton

My professional experience has allowed me to be a well rounded LA, rather than an expert in a couple of specific areas of focus. I try to bring creative solutions to every phase and area of design. My objective is to help a client take a project from early concept to completion and make the client and the team succeed throughout the process. My career has allowed me to become more experienced in many areas of interest, including: Form and code review; Site analysis; ADA compliant design; Planning; Horticulture; Historical preservation; Trails and multi-modal systems; Concept sketches; Presentation graphics; Streetscape improvements; Master planning; Photo simulations; Research of new design practices; Landscape and lighting; Custom site design and details; Singage and wayfinding; Team leadership; Stream restoration; Wetland mitigation; Construction drawings; Parks and playgrounds; Wildlife hazards; Site security design; Aviation obstruction removal and mitigation; Pedestrian / vehicular circulation and safety; Green infrastructure and sustainable design; and Hand and computer graphics. I have had the unique opportunity to work with numerous allied professionals and have attempted to better understand how we all work together best to complete the "project puzzle". It has been reinforced throughout my career that in order to better understand where my skills as a Landscape Architect bring the most value to the team, I must also try and stay in tune with how the team member's skill sets overlap, complement, and conflict. It has also been a personal goal of mine to educate privately and publicly about the profession of Landscape Architecture and the role that we play in the design and care of the environment around us. As part of this effort I have enjoyed teaching school age children and their parents, clients, professional peers, municipalities and even government officials.
