About Andrew Calvin

Andrew D. Calvin, M.D, M.P.H, earned his graduate and medical degrees from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and Medical School, followed by graduate training through the Clinician-Investigator Training Program at Mayo Clinic in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Preventive Cardiology, and Echocardiography. He joined the staff of Mayo Clinic Health System in 2015 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in which he provides primary cardiovascular care to his community in Northwest Wisconsin. He holds the rank of Associate Professor of Medicine and serves as the Chair of Education for Mayo Clinic Health System, the Medical Director for Accreditation and Compliance in the Mayo Clinic School of Continuous Professional Develop, and the Medical Director of the Echocardiography program in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He serves as adjunct faculty at multiple universities across the Midwest and in the Honors Program at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Beyond the walls of Mayo Clinic, he serves on the board of directors of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American College of Physicians and the Wisconsin Medical Society, and serves on the Cardiovascular Disease Longitudinal Approval Committee for the American Board of Internal Medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Calvin volunteers with Scouting America and serves as his Council Vice President, overseeing all training, advancement, and programming provided to boys and girls across 10 counties in Western Wisconsin. He has been recognized with numerous awards for his educational innovation, including the American College of Physician Wisconsin Chapter’s Community-Based Physician and Mentor Award, Mayo Clinic Health System Innovator of the Year Award, and the William "Bill" Maierhofer, M.D, Distinguished Educator Award. Dr. Calvin’s passion is in using education to improve cardiovascular outcomes and eliminate health disparities in rural communities.
