Hi, I'm Andrew, a Senior at Stony Brook University majoring in Journalism with a strong focus on Broadcast Journalism, Reporting, and Communications. My passion lies in storytelling, mentoring, and community service. I aim to inspire individuals from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds, empowering them to navigate challenges and achieve their full potential. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have been deeply involved in leadership and mentorship programs that align with my purpose. As a Men of Elmont mentorship program leader, I developed values such as personal courage, selfless service, loyalty, and respect. This role also taught me the power of effective communication—articulating ideas clearly and actively listening to and understanding different perspectives to build meaningful connections. At Stony Brook, I have further cultivated my leadership skills through active participation in campus organizations and initiatives. My involvement in these communities has given me a platform to foster inclusivity, share stories, and mentor my peers, which I find incredibly rewarding. My ultimate goal is to combine my passion for journalism and mentoring to serve as a role model and a trusted voice. I aspire to create impactful narratives that inform, humanize, and inspire. Whether it's through on-air reporting, community engagement, or storytelling, I am driven to shine a light on untold stories and make a positive impact. Outside of my academic pursuits, I enjoy connecting with others, exploring innovative ways to share stories, and finding opportunities to give back to the community.
