About Andrew Caputo

3L at University of Nebraska College of Law | J.D. Candidate with Concentrations in Intellectual Property and Space Law | Experienced in Optical Communications, Atmospheric Physics, Aerospace, and Defense As a third-year law student at the University of Nebraska College of Law, I am pursuing a J.D. with specializations in intellectual property and space law. I am honored to serve as President of the Student Bar Association for the Class of 2026 and am actively involved as a Staff Editor of the Nebraska Law Review. Additionally, I support faculty research through the Schmid Research Fellowship. Before embarking on my legal journey, I gained valuable experience in the optical communications, commercial aerospace, and defense sectors. My background includes research in integrated photonics and atmospheric physics. I hold a Master of Science in Optics and Photonics from the University of Central Florida (2022) and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics with minors in Aviation Law and Applied Mathematics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Outside the classroom, I enjoy playing ice hockey, learning Italian, and volunteering with the National Ocean Sciences Bowl to promote ocean conservation and education among high school students.
