About Andrew Dobson

My thirty year career in the building and construction industry includes work for both public and private clients across multiple sectors including infrastructure, public housing, public domain, commercial, industrial, information technology, institutional and health, on projects up to $850m in value (Star Casino refurbishment 2009-11). As a delivery and client side project manager with over fifteen years'​ experience, my roles have spanned the project lifecycle from start to finish, including strategic planning, feasibility studies, business case program development and authoring, pre-acquisition due diligence, reverse-briefing, budget strategy and preliminary cost planning, procurement strategy and tendering, detailed design development, delivery (construction and IT deployment), asset management and maintenance. The diversity of projects and programs that I have successfully delivered within highly complex environments is testimony to my capabilities to balance complex technical and resourcing issues with political sensitivities and competing organisational priorities and to work collaboratively and influence a number of internal and external stakeholders to achieve tangible outcomes, on time and under budget. Early roles as contract administrator provided a solid commercial foundation to my career and to this day, I apply an extraordinary level of diligence to the commercial and financial aspects of all projects. More recent collaborations have called upon my capacity for high-level strategic planning and negotiation with numerous and diverse stakeholders, work that has helped shape substantial programs of work. An interest in energy efficient construction began during my university studies (B. Building Hons) and was fuelled by my final year dissertation:"Energy Efficient Homes: Energy Efficient Techniques and Technology Applied To An Existing Residential Home"(1994) 728.370472 DOBA (University of South Australia Library). My extensive project experience, vast technical knowledge, a hands-on project management style and a genuine passion for problem solving will be wholeheartedly utilised to develop surety for your project.
