About Andrew Duncan

I am a global C suite Executive with experience working in public, private and start-up companies, with particularly broad experience in international business development and licensing both patented technology as well as content. I currently sit on one private and one public board in the tech sector. I have a diverse, international perspective as I’ve lived, worked, and set up businesses in North and South America, Europe, and Asia (Japan, Korea, and China), in a variety of areas, including telehealth, home entertainment technology, mobile, and content streaming. Following early experience in international product development, I joined a technology industry leader, pre-IPO which created a global media technology standard. I then went on to build my own licensing and business development company. Throughout my career, I’ve been successful in negotiating multimillion-dollar licensing agreements with industry leaders across North America, Europe, and Asia – Sony, Samsung, SPI (Canal+), Dolby, and Best-Buy. I have extensive experience in the management of licensing assets both inbound licensing negotiations, I.P. management as well as outbound licensing and enforcement programs. I have raised significant capital based around patented technology to launch and run international subsidiaries and was early to set up a content streaming company to sell content to and partner with major Asian media companies. Career Success Highlights- Created two significant standards in the consumer electronics industry, bringing in 100s millions of dollars in annual licensing revenue- Raised $4M from private investors to purchase International IP, launch technology- Co-authored five patents while leading global product development of an industry (CES) award-winning product- Ran multiple successful I.P. monetization operations, both for the U.S. domestic market & internationally, the most recent one generating over $1.5M in licensing revenue. I also mentor undergraduates at Nottingham University & post graduate MBAs at the UCLA Anderson School of Business.
