Background
About Andrew Elliott
I'm an analytical thinker who's driven to develop solutions that are both practical and data-driven. I also have a passion for coordinating complex projects and creating timelines that will ensure team success. I never lose sight of project goals and objectives, as I show deep commitment to projects until they are completed. Furthermore, I bring a structured, methodical approach to engineering, ensuring that all details are accounted for. Above all, I demand high standards for every task I perform, whether it's in the workplace or on the frisbee field. I grew up in Covington, Louisiana where I first attended Kehoe-France Northshore. I excelled in mathematics and knew that I wanted to pursue a career in a science-related field. In 2015, I attended St. Paul's School which introduced me to 3D modeling and coding. When my senior year arrived, I had the privilege of taking a classical physics class which convinced me to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. Like many, I enrolled at the University of Utah because I wanted to ski, and I did plenty of that during the first two years of college. However, at the beginning of my second year, I wanted to branch out. My dad convinced me to try playing ultimate frisbee, a sport that contrasted with the sports I played in high school, which were cross-country and track. The decision to join the ultimate frisbee club on campus is the greatest I have ever made. By my third year, the money I normally spent on ski passes was spent on tournament dues instead. The relationships, skills, and memories I acquired during my time on Zion Curtain Ultimate will stay with me forever. During my undergraduate studies, I not only worked on multiple group projects but also acquired valuable skills in software such as SolidWorks, Arduino, and MATLAB. In addition, I learned how to operate a lathe, drill press, and band saw. I received my CSWA certification in SolidWorks and my University of Utah machine shop badge for operating a lathe. Furthermore, I have had the privilege to work at Checkpoint Group, Rollercam, and Digital Learning Technologies at the University of Utah.
