This involves maintaining and developing client relationships and managing communications between clients and senior colleagues, which includes attending and leading meetings, producing detailed engineering documentation and presenting to large expert audiences.Management –An ability to work in a team in both team member and team leader roles, having worked in engineering teams progressing from junior to senior roles over time. Strong organisational skills having been involved with many projects simultaneously and completed them to strict deadlines while managing project costs, risk and resources. Received ISO 9001 training and ISO 14001 training by the Welsh government and aspirations to complete an APMP qualification. Experience of integrating and scaling up conceptual methods into production. Technical –An expert understanding of the Finite Element Method (FEM) and relevant mechanical design software systems such as Ansys, Abaqus, Solidworks (including simulation) and Autodesk products. I can conduct stress, fatigue, creep and structural analysis for high volume and low volume manufacturing. I have an ability to produce high quality, robust designs and am not afraid to challenge orthodox design methodology. Computational – Good knowledge of finite element software such as Abaqus (attended the Abaqus advanced explicit course) and some knowledge of Ansys.
