Before relocating to Zürich, I held a position as an in-house translator/editor of automotive technical manuals and guides for a company in Japan, a position which also included copywriting duties and which allowed me to substantially develop my written language and communication skills. During the 7 years I spent in Japan, I also worked hard to gain invaluable cross-cultural experience, to cultivate a unique world view, and to expand my skill set by learning the craft of translation and the effective use of language. In 2002, I earned a Bachelor's degree in the UK before joining the staff of the Medical Sciences Dept. of Oxford University as an IT specialist and e-learning technologist. This position allowed me to gain experience with a range of technologies and content management systems, and to build upon my considerable base of IT experience and knowledge. Study and personal progression are very important to me and I constantly strive to better myself in both my professional work and my personal life. I hope to continue pushing the boundaries of my achievements by learning new languages (I am currently studying German and Chinese), experiencing new cultures and pursuing a challenging, affecting and rewarding career path.
