About Andrew Gerritsen

How many industries require you to have an understanding of art, history, engineering, finance, and personnel management? For someone who has such varied interests, theater was a wonderful beginning of my career. This, coupled with the thrill of producing something new that can never be replicated kept every day exciting. I am seeking to focus on strategic planning and implementation, bringing a creative eye to business problems to craft unique solutions that are effective across organizations. The MBA program at Georgetown McDonough School of Business added new skills and depth to my toolbox, focusing on strategy and operations. This combined with my previous experience enables me to speak the languages of creativity, engineering and business, helping to bridge the gap between creators, producers and administrators. My career so far has given me experience: • Strategic Thinking – Identifying and reducing uncertainties, making sure that any plan is adaptable with the fluidity of a situation, and always having a back-up plan in place. • Organizational Optimization ¬– Knowing that every cog in the wheel of an organization is important, and striving to understand and appreciate what every person brings to the table. • Cooperation and Collaboration – ¬Using every challenge as a learning opportunity, then finding a way to pass that new knowledge on to anyone with a desire to learn. • Interpersonal Connectivity – Building lasting relationships with supervisors, employees, and clients. The diversity of experience that I have had in my career and education puts me in a unique position to connect with many different businesses, and to help them navigate through their blind spots. The greater the complexity and more I can learn from a project or collaborator, the more I will rise to the challenges in front of me and the more value I can deliver.
