About Andrew Hahn

In no way could I have guessed that 25+ years of living life would find me at Messiah College studying Digital Media. Many things have shaped and changed my journey as I navigated through this thing called life. I grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania right in the middle of rolling hills and farmland. My younger years turned out to be very formative for me, for it was there that I gained interests and skills in leadership, work ethic, public speaking, and electronics. That last word “electronics” is an important one, because it eventually led to my pursuit of Digital Media at Messiah College. Digital Media had everything to satisfy my love for electronics, including film and editing, graphic design, sound design, web development, and computer programming. This, as one might expect, led to my proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, and HTML/CSS. As I continue studying at Messiah, I am increasingly becoming aware that design has an impact on society. That is why it is important for good design in our day and age, and I want my designs to be a part of it. This means, as a designer, I have a responsibility to create effective designs that impact society in a positive way. Many times, this is termed as being a “Socially Responsible Designer.” However, it occurred to me that society also needs “Spiritually Responsible Designers,” designers that are willing to use their talents to bring honor and glory to God and further His kingdom. More than anything, I aim to be a combination of both.
