About Andrew Haughey

I grew up in Sussex England, before going to college in Plymouth. In 1991 and 1992, while at College I worked with people with disabilities at Pine Tree Camp in Rome Maine, where I met my wife. After College I began my career in Law Enforcement in England as a Constable, where I learned Crisis Management and Control as well as developing situation awareness skills. After emigrating to Maine in I continued as a Police Officer in Monmouth. I also worked for Kennebec Sheriff Office and Augusta Police, where I was responsible for training new dispatchers, and took the State "train the trainers" course. I also served on a sub-committee working on the creation of the new State Dispatch Center in Augusta. In 2006 I moved to the private sector, Central Maine Power, where I worked to develop my communication, crisis management and situation awareness skills in their power distribution system in the Distribution Dispatch Center. I was responsible for modernising the workflow by digitizing the day to day operating reference material. I then moved to the North Augusta Service Center for Cemtral Maine Power, where I am the Lead Materials and Waste Handler. I have a number if roles, first with the Environmental Department. I deal with hazardous and universal wastes generated by CMP, including PCB contaminated mineral oil. I also deal with the demolition of large items of equipment, such as substation transformers. I am part of the team which plans and orders equipment for substation improvement projects. as well as routine maintenence.
