About Andrew J.

I am a norms-defying individual and lifelong learner focused on the intersection of sociology, public policy, communities, and primary care. I am a recent graduate from Cornell University, with a Bachelor of Science in health care policy from the Brooks School of Public Policy. I plan to pursue an MD/PhD in sociology and public policy after working as a case manager for a few years, and eventually serve as a primary care physician for a community and professor of sociology, helping to integrate sociological thinking into the next generation of community members. My research interests include social welfare policy, community sociology, and primary care/community-based health. I seek to understand the social structures that affect our behaviors and how social welfare policy can build stronger, more socially connected communities to improve health outcomes.
