Background
About Andrew Jacobson
As an experienced screenwriter and television writer, I have written, produced, and directed films and television shows for studios such as Disney, FOX, Paramount, Netflix, Sony, MGM, Miramax, Lionsgate, Hulu, MTV, and Warner Brothers. Notably, I wrote the hit Sony comedy "Not Another Teen Movie," which grossed over $100 million worldwide and introduced audiences to future Captain America and People's Sexiest Man Alive Chris Evans. In addition to my work in the entertainment industry, I have authored the internationally acclaimed middle-grade fantasy series "The Familiars," translated into 14 languages and optioned to become an animated movie. But storytelling doesn’t stand still—and neither do I. As the media landscape has evolved, so has my focus. I’ve transitioned into the rapidly changing world of new media, tech, and AI, where I’m leveraging my storytelling expertise to shape the future of entertainment. During the Writer's Strike, I contributed to the product development team at Spotter, building AI-powered ideation and storytelling tools to assist top YouTube creators like MrBeast, ZHC, Steven He, Jordan Matter, and Kinigra Deon. My role involved crafting diverse, high-quality content, maintaining datasets for AI training, and collaborating closely with the Product team to evaluate and enhance AI content quality, ensuring our outputs met the highest industry standards. This experience deepened my understanding of how technology can amplify storytelling, and it sparked my passion for exploring the intersection of AI, digital media, and emerging platforms. Today, I’m focused on creating and innovating in short-form vertical entertainment and other digital-first formats that are redefining how stories are told and consumed. Interests: Tennis (Let's hit some time if you're in L.A- I'm about a 4.0/4.5 player), Audiobooks (Non-fiction - recently listened to Opposable Thumbs by Matt Singer and The Last Action Heroes by Nick de Semlyen), Podcasts (my weekly go-to's are "The Town with Matt Belloni,""What Now? with Trevor Noah," and "The Colin & Samir Show"), and I'm a lifelong Wisconsin sports die hard fan. Feel free to DM me or reach out at rewjake@gmail.com to discuss potential collaborations, projects, or any other opportunities.
