Andrew Large started his career in the nuclear industry in 2009 as a Field Operator supporting the Testing and Commissioning Program with the Design Capacity Performance Testing (DCPT) of a small-scale category 2 nuclear facility prototype known as the Salt Waste Processing Facility (SWPF). Over the next several years he successfully managed multiple fascists of the Testing and Commissioning Program in support of Design Capacity Performance Test (DCPT) of the Salt Waste Processing Facility and Next Generation Solvent Building as an NQA-1 Test Engineer II. In 2016, Andrew accepted the position of Senior Technical Advisor and successfully contributed to the preparation and passing of a category 2 nuclear Facility Management Self-Assessment (FMSA), Contractor Operational Readiness Review (CORR), and the Department of Energy’s Operational Readiness Review (DORR). Resulting in successful achievement of Critical Decision-4, a major milestone. In 2020 Andrew successfully managed the decommissioning of the SWPF prototype where he first started his career in 2009. Over the last 3 years Andrew has supported the SWPF project as the Senior Fire Protection Specialist where he coordinated the annual, semi-annual, and quarterly fire system testing to provide feedback and assessments for process improvement opportunities. As of April 1st, 2023, Andrew has accepted the position of Senior Outage/Special Projects Coordinator at SWPF.
