With over 35 years of experience in architecture, Andrew has made an indelible mark on the industry through his dedication to culturally relevant design, social impact, and sustainability. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Andrew was among the first African Americans to attend the institution's architecture program in the late 1960s. His journey, deeply rooted in his upbringing as the son of Mississippi sharecroppers and his passion for transforming communities, has shaped his approach to architecture. Andrew is committed to creating spaces that reflect cultural diversity and foster community engagement. Before founding Architect McGlory Studio in 2015, Andrew held key roles at prestigious firms and organizations, including working on global projects in Africa, India, and Madagascar, as well as serving as a Senior Project Manager for the Saint Paul Public Schools Facility Planning Department. His expertise spans residential, commercial, civic, and educational projects, with a focus on sustainable building practices and LEED-certified design. As a leader, Andrew is also deeply invested in mentoring the next generation of architects. Through his internship program, he provides hands-on experience to aspiring architects, ensuring they gain valuable insights into all aspects of design, from construction documentation to client collaboration. His firm is an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, consistently working toward breaking barriers in the field of architecture.
