I hold a PhD in Zoology from Trinity College Dublin (TCD), supervised by Prof. Yvonne Buckley and Dr. Dalia Conde (Species360). My research is broadly concerned with the use of globally shared zoo and aquarium data, and advanced quantitative analytical techniques, to inform conservation and population management decision-making, both in situ and ex situ. I collaborate with key stakeholders in the global conservation community and leverage my expertise in both computer programming and conservation planning to provide practical solutions to industry-identified problems and concerns, with a particular focus on ex situ population sustainability, collection planning and biobanking. I also maintain secondary research interests in biogeography, ecology, evolution, behaviour and welfare among others.
