I am an MBA graduate and varsity athlete at Western Washington University, with a BA in communication studies and philosophy, and minor in writing. I have paid experience in journalism and a well-rounded education in communications, including professional and technical writing, creative writing, audio content creation, interpersonal communication and academic research. Personal Mission Statement: As an experienced student of communication studies, I recognize the power of communication to solve problems and help us work together effectively. I believe that the written and spoken word are among our greatest influences and responsibilities, and that through consistency and a strong work ethic, one can work cohesively to put forth plans that arise from diverse ideas. I strive to use my communication focus to be a leader and positive contributor to my endeavors. My challenging lifestyle as a varsity cross country and track athlete has bolstered my commitment to constant improvement, and has illustrated the importance of an inviting yet accountable team culture. I always look for ways to do my part to better the group, because if everyone does the best they can, possibilities can turn into realities. I want to be an indispensable team member that meaningfully pursues success and individual contributions while upholding an ethical code of conduct. Professional Mission Statement: I strive to apply my communication skills and writing competency in the workplace by producing high-quality work and creating strong content. I value effective collaboration with others and am dedicated to fulfilling my role in working toward the mission, leading by example, and asking questions that are expedient to completing projects thoroughly. In terms of execution, I recognize that the medium in which messages are communicated makes a tremendous impact on its interpretation, and I understand the importance of maintaining a professional tone. Along with this, structuring our messages around their purpose and effect on building relationships is integral to uplifting strong and ethical business. As such, I consider not only the content of my writing, but the manner and modality in which it is to be interpreted, because it is imperative to tailor communications to the relevant audience. This ensures that the message matches the intentions behind it.
