About Andrew Potts

When I first saw Dr. Cal Lightman in Lie to Me, my immediate thought was,"How can I have that man's job?" Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that a job as a walking, talking, your-face-says-you're-lying human lie detector was not a real occupation. Several years later, I had the opportunity to do something I never thought possible - research lie detection. For five years, I studied how deceptive behavior influences pupil dilations and reading behaviors. Through research studies, statistical analysis, and countless hours of reading journal articles, I've learned how the eyes really can be "a window to the soul"(come on, you had to see that coming). Along the way, I helped develop a new test protocol called the Multiple-issue Comparison Test (MCT) that is now marketed worldwide by the company Converus. I also picked up a master's in statistics to improve my analytical capabilities. Now I work in the financial sector. Although lie detection is no longer part of my life (though it could be incredibly useful in finance), I apply the analytical skills I learned toward catching fraudsters at USAA. In addition to my analytical experience, hablo español y. Feel free to shoot me a message if you're interested in chatting.
