About Andrew Pump

I am a PhD graduate from the University of Ottawa and am currently a Program Development Officer for the Community Addiction Peer Support Association (CAPSA). In the first year of my career as a manger in the non-profit sector at the St. Joe's Supper Table I learned volunteer management, budget monitoring, community partnership building, donor relationship management, fundraising and event planning and website design. I saw this as a natural transition from service experience in retail into the non-profit industry. My current role at CAPSA builds on this foundational non-profit experience as I continue to build trusted relationships with our partners which include municipal, provincial, and national governments, educational institutions and research organizations, health care providers and services, public health agencies, and law enforcement. In my previous pastoral role at St. Joseph's Parish I worked with young adults, engaged couples, teachers, and families. I am passionate about community and volunteer work and have served on the board of directors for the Community Addictions Peer Support Association before coming on as a full-time team member. Since my late teens I have done volunteer coordination, street outreach work, administration and communications, event planning, and media relations. I am always looking for an opportunity to develop new professional skills so that I can be an asset to my employer, a helpful team member, and to bring these skills into my community. I love working with the public and have over a decade of experience in the service industry in both restaurants and sales/customer service. I am highly organized and efficient with a respectful and energetic attitude.
