About Andrew Rae

Andrew Rae is a highly experienced illustrator who works closely with Chrissie Macdonald at Moonhead Studios based in London. He is represented by Bernstein and Andriulli in the UK and The US. He was a cofounder of Peepshow the award winning studio specialising in animation, art direction and illustration. For two decades he has created playful, characterful illustrations and animations for many worldwide clients in advertising, print, publishing and animation. He is happy creating editorial covers for the New York Times Magazine, illustrating books for children such as My Crazy Inventions Sketchbook published by Laurence King, writing and illustrating his own Graphic Novel Moonhead and the Music Machine published by Nobrow (Flying Eye), doing live drawing events such as Heavy Pencil at the ICA or TedMed in Washington and working closely with a team of animators creating the award winning animated series Pandemica for the charity One. He Art Directed the award winning BBC animation Monkey Dust, his graphic novel “Moonhead and the Music Machine” was published by Nobrow and had a development deal as a TV series with Amazon, he has illustrated “This is Warhol”, “This is Dali”, “Where’s Warhol” and “My Crazy Inventions Sketchbook” published by Laurence King, he illustrated Tim Minchin’s book “You don’t have to have a dream” published by Ebury Press, Penguin and Art Directed the Short Animated Series Pandemica voiced by Penelope Cruz, David Oyelowo, Kumail Nanjiani and Nick Kroll among others.
