About Andrew Ryan

With professional qualifications in Engineering and Business Management, and a career focus in putting contemporary management practices into action, I have extensive executive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. I am the Director Infrastructure Planning with Moreton Bay Council, within Queensland. Moreton Bay has a population of over people, and is one of the fastest growing regions in South East Queensland. My role and focus is on developing and delivering quality roads, streetscapes, parks and green / innovative transport solutions to support a growing community. I have a passion for implementing digital technologies to increase service efficiencies. I am also a strong advocate for effective and robust engineering and asset management strategies to look after the assets we already own. Prior to this, I was the Asset Management and Systems Manager at the Brisbane Airport Corporation, responsible for developing the asset management plans and support software systems to develop and maintain the airports critical assets. I have also held a prior longer term role as the Director Infrastructure Services with the Sunshine Coast Council for over a decade. I was awarded the honour of being selected as the Institute of Public Works Engineering (Qld) “Professional Engineer of the Year“ for 2015, due to my contributions to the engineering profession and the wider community. I have significant expertise across all facets of public and private works engineering, with expertise in asset management, environmental and project management, workforce and service transformation through information technology. I hold a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, a Master’s in Business Administration (Technology Management), and a Company Director Diploma with the Institute of Company Directors. I am also an RPEQ and a Fellow of Engineers Australia, and a Fellow of the IPWEAQ.
