About Andrew S.

As a skilled and enthusiastic senior software engineer with over 15+ years of industrial experience and a first-class Master's degree in Computer Science, I am passionate about writing clean, efficient, and well-tested code. My expertise includes back-end development using Java on Micronaut and Groovy on Grails, as well as front-end development using Angular and TypeScript. I have also gained experience in cloud computing, working with AWS and Azure, and virtualisation technologies such as vSphere.Throughout my career, I have been a vocal advocate for clean code and have made significant contributions to codebases by reducing technical debt and increasing testing coverage. I am dedicated to continuous learning and improving my skills, and I actively participate in team meetings to discuss best practices and facilitate dialogue around refactoring and code complexity.I am also passionate about sharing my thoughts and ideas with the LinkedIn community and enjoy contributing to discussions around software engineering. In addition to my technical expertise, I have a strong track record of mentoring and guiding other team members.Disclaimer: The content I share on this platform - opinions, discussions on software practices, doses of humor, etc - strictly represent my personal perspective and are not associated with my current or past employers.Updated in May 2023.
