About Andrew Selby

I am currently employed at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, WA as a physician assistant in urgent care. I started work for Overlake just prior to the pandemic in 2019. Currently I work for multiple Overlake urgent care clinics in the Bellevue/Eastside area for PSP (Puget Sound Physicians). I graduated in 2011 from the Duke University Physician Assistant Program, and began my medical career as an EMT 18 years ago while taking classes as an undergraduate at Emory University in Atlanta. During my time as an EMT, I delivered care while on forest fires, search and rescue missions, and even on a commercial fishing boat in Alaska. My diverse background in emergency medicine has made me a flexible team member with the ability to excel in a variety of settings. While at Duke, I trained with a primary focus on family and inpatient medicine. Other areas of expertise include orthopedics and wilderness medicine. I began my career at a small family practice clinic outside of Seattle. After two years I shifted to Swedish Medical Center, working for the hepatobiliary and transplant surgery team and then as a hepatologist (with a focus on inpatient medicine). As I move forward with my career I am continually looking for a place to learn and grow, a place that will help me become a strong community member and leader. My experience prior to PA school both as a medical assistant and as an EMT gives me a unique perspective as a provider. I am comfortable working autonomously in fast-paced clinical settings, but also have experience working with multidisciplinary teams and can adapt quickly to a variety of environments. I believe that given my education, clinical skills, work experience, and personality, I would be a vital asset to any practice.
