About Andrew Sersion

Andrew is a 2011 graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH where he earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. While attending Miami University, Andrew studied trombone with Professor Jaime Morales-Matos and was the bass trombonist for the Miami University Wind Ensemble. Andrew completed his student teaching experience in the fall of 2011 at Centerville High School in Dayton, OH with Band Director Brandon Barrometti. During this time, Andrew had the opportunity to lead instruction and assist with each of the three high school concert bands and worked with students at each of Centerville’s three middle schools. From 2007-2010 Andrew performed with the Seven-Time Drum Corps International World Champion Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from Rosemont, IL as a baritone player. Andrew was also a member of the Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps from Lexington, KY in 2005 as a euphonium player. These experiences culminated with Andrew’s age-out and The Cavaliers 2nd place finish at the 2010 Drum Corps International World Championships held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN. As an active musician, Andrew performs regularly with the Mason Community Band in Mason, OH and The Southwestern Ohio Symphonic Band in West Chester, OH. As an instructor, Andrew has worked with several high school marching bands in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas, including the Centerville Jazz Band and the La Salle High School "Pride of La Salle" Marching Band. Currently, Andrew serves as the Assistant Band Director for Lebanon City Schools. Andrew's duties include teaching General Music grades 5-6, co-directing the Junior High bands grades 7-8, co-directing the High School Symphonic Band, co-directing the High School Pep Band, directing the High School Show Choir Band, and directing the High School Marching Band. Andrew has also served as a staff member for the Centerville Jazz Band, La Salle HS Marching Band, and Lakota East High School Marching Band.
