About Andrew Shapiro

Recovered opioid misuser (10.5 years strong) who found purpose through the long term treatment of my own pain. I currently hold my M.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I am licensed as a professional counselor in Missouri, I am a nationally certified counselor, I have achieved level two as a certified Gottman Method therapist, and I have obtained all three facets of harm reduction certification. I am honored to be the clinical director for Birch Tree Recovery and I am humbled to maintain a small private practice out of Birch Tree’s home office. I have limited availability to see adolescents, couples, and families - please PM me if you or a loved one is in need. My personal philosophy is rooted in the belief that the field of mental health treatment requires massive systemic change. I am focused on uncovering new methods and approaches to treatment by examining social systems and analyzing their specific environmental trends.
