About Andrew Short

I am currently a Senior Information Analyst in the Education Department at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. The Education department is pioneering a range of innovative new programmes that seek to make BHRUT an employer of choice for healthcare professionals. In my role as Senior Information Analyst, I provide the essential data and analysis that help to inform and shape the various projects. I recently completed my PhD in History from UCL, supported by the Doctoral Training Programme of the London Arts & Humanities Partnership (LAHP). My research focusses on non-governmental organisations and voluntary associations in the late-nineteenth century. During my PhD years, I was employed as a Postgraduate Tutor in the UCL History Department, having taught on three modules: Writing History, Making History, Building the American Nation, 1789-1920. This role has involved preparing and delivering engaging seminars for both first-year and second-year undergraduate students, as well the formal assessment of students through essays and progress reports, in collaboration with the Course Leader.
