About Andrew Snapp

Growing up with a Chef as a father, I am no stranger to all the tastes and smells emanating from the kitchen. Food has been a big part of my life from helping prep for Sunday dinners, doing parties with my father to running a restaurant and maintaining high quality standards for a large-scale food manufacturer. It wasn’t until recently that the pride set in that I was making a difference enforcing food safety and quality for millions of consumers. I know that I want to continue in this field and I strive to make myself and those around me better, if I can only be given a chance. I have been given chances before and have consistently exceeded expectations. After 2 weeks learning the ropes from Frank, the owner of Lorenzo’s Italian Restaurant, I was given the keys to his kingdom and proved to be a valued asset, so much so, that he was happy to have me back when I was laid off from Arlon in 2009. While at Arlon, I was running a machine on the production floor when multiple vacancies opened in the QA department due to a supervisor change. I approached the new supervisor, pled my case and he took a chance on me which paid the dividend of a record 97% on-time shipping status credited to only myself and the senior tech who trained me. Pairing my new skills in quality and my passion for food afforded me the opportunity to gain experience in Food Safety with Aryzta. This was a pivot point in my life where my eyes were opened to the regulatory landscape through the United States Department of Agriculture – Food Safety Inspection Service. Even though the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, Arzyta LLC (Global bakery company), Arlon Silicone Technologies Division, and a Restaurant Manager are all very different fields of business, they all demand the same integrity, attention to detail and methodical application of rules and regulations. All the skills I have gained have shaped my mind to notice details others may have overlooked and my inquisitive nature paired with my excellent oral and written communications skills make me someone who can be relied upon to verify both assets and liabilities.
